"I don't know if he ever asked about mine, either," Beverly replies, her expression a little wistful. "Or I don't remember, anyway." A few weeks ago, it might have surprised her to hear Neil say that, that she reminds him of himself, or of his teenage best friend. Now, though, it makes an odd sort of sense again, reminding her of that night in the woods as Pyre Fest devolved into chaos, how terribly seen she'd felt, that strange unspoken understanding between them.
